Overview:

Little is known about this vessel to this point. So little can be said about it. Avenger classes are recognized for their large armament of weaponry and because they are carriers. The avenger has little heavy weaponry, but instead relies on its allies to support it. The heavy weaponry it does have is all forward-firing and is used mostly to bombard planets or moons.

The crew quarters are in the lower section of the bridge with higher-ranking crew members getting the upper sections. The missiles are housed in the above them. The phase-cannons are housed inside the vessel, reaching halfway down the landing area. The heavy Corinth Lasers are almost completely exposed, except for their chargers, which are directly behind them.

The catalyst drives are new creations that allow maximum propulsion, with minimum space. These were only in the testing stage as far as the Burham Government new until they saw them used here.

Capabilities:

The avenger’s mostly light weaponry makes it able to demobilizes an enemy vessel and gives the crew the option of boarding or destroying. Once it has demobilized it however, if in the case it wants to destroy it, it turns and fires it forward-firing weapons to finish the vessel. The avenger’s other alternative is either deploying its fighters and bombers, or using its missiles. Both of these it, of course, uses.

The avenger’s long landing strip is used mostly so it can deploy and land fighter in mass. They are taxied to or from the hanger underneath the bridge, a special vehicle acts as a landing and moving platform for the Maian fighter. The fighter/bomber selections are thus, because of this. Firstly, Maian fighters are fast, maneuverable, and very good at destroying other fighters or bombers, but they lack any heavier weaponry to damage naval vessels. Secondly, Eclypse bombers are somewhat slower, less maneuverable, and are very good at damaging naval vessels, but lack the lighter weaponry to combat with fighters or other bombers. So group these two opposites together and you have the perfect combination of anti-fighter and anti-navy.

The avenger’s vessel boarding craft makes it easy for the avenger to capture enemy vessels. Equipped with four-hundred marines and one extra boarding craft it is very hard for any vessel to resist. It is also equipped with heavy dropships to deploy its tanks and mechs to help invade planets.

The defensive systems are basic so they won’t be discussed much. They all help to protect the avenger from incoming projectiles and lasers.

Deployment:

The avenger was discovered when it attacked and captured six Balugas transporting condemned tanks to the factories. It was also seen when it attacked and captured the planet Cor and its moons. It appears it is deployed most missions.
